The compressed air supply to a dust collector header tank should always be dry and free from condensate. Unfortunately, air dryers and filtration equipment can be expensive.
If these are not fitted as part of the dust collector system, a few simple precautions can help to minimise the problem.
Firstly, ensure that the diaphragm valves are located at the top of the header tank to reduce the potential for moisture build up in them. Secondly, install a Goyen Auto Drain Valve in the header tank to minimise the amount of condensate being sprayed into the bags or cartridges.
The Goyen Auto Drain Valve is a neat and inexpensive solution to a problem that can bring a dust collector system to a standstill if not addressed. |
