In reverse pulse dust collectors, the filter bag or cartridge cleaning function must be monitored and activated by a cleaning system controller.
The cleaning function may be 'demand' or 'continuous'. 'Demand' cleaning is when the cleaning cycle is initiated by a pressure drop across the filter. At a certain level' cleaning commences and continues until pressure drop reaches another pre-determined level.
'Continuous' cleaning is when the cleaning cycle continues indefinitely, to a preset programme of 'on' and 'off' times, regardless of the cleanliness of the filter.
In practice 'demand' cleaning reduces the number of cleaning pulses in a given period of time resulting in extended bag life, reduced compressed air consumption, longer valve life, lower emissions and less service downtime.
Goyen manufactures a range of cleaning system controllers for a more efficient reverse pulse cleaning function.
