The Goyen MLP4 point level sensor employs a high quality stepper motor. By using this type of motor we are able to accurately determine point level of solids, powders, granular and liquids etc, by allowing the motor to become stalled for indefinate periods without adverse affects on the mechanics of the sensor.
This motor driven probe uses NO springs, gears, clutches or bushes and requires NO regular maintenance. The motors and motion sensors are controlled by a microprocessor which checks the motor shaft twice per revolution to see if it has been halted by the product being sensed. The external drive shaft is bearing mounted and fully sealed for long life. The unit is supplied with relay outputs, self test facilities, switch selectable normal or fail-safe mode, operation indicators and requires no adjustment.
When first powered up, the micro-processor instructs the motor to rotate for 1.3 revolutions then stops for 2 seconds. This cycle is repeated continuously unless the shaft does not complete an expected one full revolution. If one full revolution is not achieved then the micro-processor will switch the relay to indicate an obstruction. |
